Energy Co-operatives Ireland Ltd are partners in the Sh2amrock which will deploy green hydrogen across key hard-to-abate sectors across the island of Ireland
The project will also establish essential infrastructure for hydrogen’s production, distribution, and use. This five-year project, with an estimated investment of around €80 million, will demonstrate how hydrogen can enhance the integration of renewable energy sources (RES) through sector coupling and support the widespread adoption of renewable hydrogen in Ireland’s energy system.
The project will achieve this by developing Ireland’s first hydrogen valley and a multi-modal hydrogen transport hub in Galway, speeding up the country’s energy transition and decarbonization across various applications.
