Energy Co-operatives Ireland is delighted to announce that, in partnership with Valentia Island Energy Co-operative (VIEC), that it has lodged an application for a foreshore licence for an offshore floating wind array.
The licence has been lodged with the Department of Housing Local Government and Heritage and as part of this we have set up a website to outline the details of the project and application which is available at this link.
We are very excited by this development which is part of a journey of many years co-operation between ECI and VIEC and which we hope will put community leadership at the centre of Ireland’s sustainability transition. It is an ambitious vision, but one which has the potential of revolutionizing our society as well as our economy.
